Dr. Mohammad Abbas, M.D.

Interventional Pain Physician

Dr. Mohammad Abbas, MD graduated from the esteemed Damascus University Faculty of Medicine in Syria. He then completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology before making the life-changing decision to move to the United States in 2011 to further my medical education. At the University of New Mexico (UNM), I served as a Postdoctoral Fellow, contributing to groundbreaking cancer and neuroscience research.

Following this, I completed a pre-residency fellowship in Neuro-critical Care within the Neurosurgery Department at UNM and pursued a Neurology Residency at UNM, which I successfully completed in 2021. To enhance my expertise in chronic pain management, I undertook an Interventional Pain Medicine
Fellowship at UNM’s Anesthesia Program.

Upon completing my fellowship, I relocated with my family to Florida, where I now practice as an Interventional Pain Physician with Wesley Chapel Spine and Sports Medicine. We provide cutting edge, evidence-based pain treatments using both interventional and non-interventional methods to improve patients’ quality of life. Outside of medicine, my family is my greatest source of joy. I love spending time with my wife and children and these personal experiences shape my approach to patient care, as I understand the importance of family and one’s health and well-being.
